Sick Week

I have been sick ALL WEEK LONG! It is seriously cramping my style!

We are so lucky to have such WONDERFUL moms! My mom came on Monday after work to take care of me and Isabelle, brought me dinner and put us BOTH to bed, and Dylan's mom came on Tuesday after work and brought me dinner and played with my poor baby who has stayed at home with me ALL WEEK! Wow what a blessing they are! Last night Dylan came home early* and spent some quality time with Isabelle. The way he serves and loves both me and Isabelle teaches me so much every day. I sure got a good one!

I never would have thought almost 9 years ago when we started dating that I would witness big Dylan, he is a giant in my family....he is at least a foot taller than most of us, sitting in the pinkest of rooms reading bible stories to our precious little girl in his arms.

Today I am finally feeling better but not quite up to getting out. I think Isabelle and I are in need of a majorly fun day out tomorrow!

#1 Pregnancy Coach/Partner

So I took a trip to the mall a couple of weeks ago and dashed into Bath and Body Works for some final touches for my labor bag including their AMAZING Eucalyptus Spearmint lotion! I highly recommend going out and trying it if you are in need of some relaxation! Anyway, the annoying sales guy tried to convince me to buy a "Push Present" of sorts for my husband....since he was trying to get me to buy cologne/body wash and other things Dylan wouldn't dare use (he will ONLY use bar soap....sometimes even on his face--yuck) I ignored him. Then I got an idea! So I decided to go and buy this on the day it dropped.....

Boy was Dylan surprised!

I know we haven't actually had our little girl yet and that the whole idea behind giving each other a present is to celebrate our daughter's birth. However I just thought that Dylan has been so sweet and supportive for the past 9 months and 2.5 weeks... He has brought me food/water/milk/warm wash cloths in the middle of the night, held my hair back when I puked, kept me with a constant supply of puke bags/buckets, thrown away the puke bags, endured my aches/pains/complaints/worries/strange questions, encouraged me when I needed it and made fun of me too, given me more strange pregnancy themed nicknames like "Nancy"/"Preg-Nancy"/"Pregnancy", attended all the important appointments, completed our nightly relaxation homework (free massage, gone to 12 weeks of birthing class to become an OFFICIAL card carrying certified Bradley Birthing Coach :), AND attended Breastfeeding class! I thought he needed his thank you...you are wonderful present TODAY (Because today was our Breastfeeding class and he really was questioning whether this class was for Dad's too---which it WAS!)

I am already regretting the gift as I sit in my living room with all the lights off, gun shots in the background, crazy alien squeals echoing, with my husband's face glowing in front of the TV.....

Thank you my wonderful husband!!!!!

What I call Marrying Well!

I have to brag on my wonderful husband for one post!

The other week Dylan and I tried to come up with new ways to organize our life so that when the baby comes we are ready! We like to be spontaneous and aren't always "into" planning but our new life as parents will probably not allow us to be spontaneous like we are used to :) So we have started meal planning!

Dylan thought it would be helpful to me if he took over one night a week of cooking, so thus the Wednesday Night tradition has begun! Let me just tell you I was expecting hamburgers every other week with maybe pasta and sauce or sandwiches on the off weeks. To my surprise Dylan comes home this evening after 1.5 hours in the grocery store (mind you I went to do a big grocery trip yesterday!) at about 8 PM and does this.....

I hope you notice the LONG recipe and all the ingredients strewn about the kitchen! Dylan would not let me do ANYTHING and didn't appreciate any "tips" I offered--oops I need to learn patience and tact! I definitely want to encourage any Dylan cooking adventures because as I learned in Spain from his Goat Cheese Chicken Creation (a good post all in itself) he is quite the natural chef and makes delicious dishes even if they sound/look REALLY weird.

Perhaps my favorite part of the evening is seeing Dylan cut open the plastic wrap on the chicken with my Wusthof Santoku knife and "stirring" the enchilada ingredients with metal tongs!

If any of you girls reading this are not in a relationship I highly recommend finding a guy who is willing and interested in trying new things. It makes for an AWESOME husband. Not only does he try cooking new things but he is always appreciative of my cooking efforts.

I can't wait to taste his first Wednesday Night Creation!

Bon Appetite!

Gender Reveal Day

Today is the day we find out if we will be buying blue or pink....footballs or tutus.....jerseys or dresses....

I will post the details tomorrow!

Just because I like reading posts with pictures...and I can't stop thinking about how thankful I am for Dylan and what a wonderful Dad he is going to be to our little Dylan or little Katherine...

Happy Cinco De Mayo or Gender Reeveal Day!
