We are rockin' and rollin'

My Little Miss is officially on the path to crawling. She has been "creeping" for a long time. She can push herself backwards, but has been less interested in more productive moving thus far. I let her play on the floor with her cousins at Mimi and Pop's house on Easter and she started rolling and reaching. Since then I realized I had seriously restricted her movements by putting her on a blanket!

After a week of playing on the carpet she started rocking on her hands and knees!! She is not at all afraid to lurch forward from sitting to crawling but is still not that interested in rolling to get places. I think we are getting closer to crawling! If I can ever get my videos to upload on blogger I will show you some of the many, boring for most people, videos of Isabelle in action:)

Happy 4 Month Birthday Isabelle

Where to begin! Isabelle you have the sweetest, most gentle spirit. I feel so blessed to be your Mom. However this month you are really showing us quite an expressive side! You have always been very "talkative" cooing from the beginning, always making a girly sigh when you yawn, making ample noises while you are sleeping (I will have to post a video of that), and this month you have started squealing/screaming! They are the happiest little noises in the world. They crack me up. I dread the day they become mad screams, however, because you have got quite an impressive vocal range!

You have also been saying "meh-meh-meh-meh..." I would like to think you are saying Mama....but you are a little to young for that. You say it when you are sad or annoyed at playing on your tummy. You have been doing this since the beginning of December but you definitely do it more now. You definitely know who your Mom and Dad are. You follow us with your eyes around the room if we put your down or when someone else is holding you. It makes us feel pretty good!

You have been rolling over since you were 2 months and 1 week old and I am hoping you will surprise us one day with rolling over from your stomach to your back. You also sit up unassisted tripod style since January 1, about 3 months and 1+ week old! You were sitting in Pops' lap while new years football was on (Mommy was not happy about the men letting you watch TV) and REFUSING to sit back. Pops and your (Great Grandma) Nana sat in amazement as you sat perfectly on your own! You had been doing that before that day but I forgot the EXACT date because I didn't realize what an accomplishment it was! Your Mimi and Pops and Aunt Rachel set me straight and let me know how advanced you are!

You are also very ticklish and laugh so hard when Mommy and Daddy tickle you!

You love Pat-A-Cake, being bounced in the air, your feet/toes (Mimi taught you that you could suck on them and just this week you started trying to take your socks off to get to those big toes), sucking on your fingers (with your thumb sometimes) on your right hand and other times your left thumb, "reading" your crinkly book, your exersacuer, and airplane with mommy. You also have taken to ripping your play gym apart. I find you most days with a death grip holding your bird and dragonfly in your hands. I guess you don't like them dangling above your head!

We are so thankful that God brought you into our lives. You bring so much joy into our household and teach us new things every day. I love you my little angel.

Sweetness

I had to share about my sweet baby! This afternoon I laid Isabelle on my bed while I got dressed and she was squealing/talking to me and laughing at me. We were carrying on quite happily then she all of a sudden drifted off to sleep.

I went on my way finishing getting ready. Then she lifted her head up, looked at me to her left, confirmed I was still there, and closed her eyes to go back to sleep. Be still my heart! That sweet look is all I need to remember that all this is so worth it. I hope I never forget these moments....

There is no greater love.

Day 68: There Were Ten in the bed and the little one said ROLL OVER!!!

My little darling decided today was the day she would roll over at 2 months and 1 week old!! I am so proud of her :)

She has been lifting up one side of her body since she was 2 weeks old but hadn't done much else during her tummy time. I was so surprised she did that so early but then got impatient and decided maybe she wouldn't roll over early. She was just working hard on her head control, however, and has made great progress there. I put her in the bumbo at 7 weeks and she held her head up and sat mesmerized at the new world of sitting up!

Isabelle at 7 weeks old and quite groggy in the early morning!

She has been getting more adept at holding her head up on my chest as she rests her little elbows and looks at me with pride!!! I guess she was working on her rolling over muscles during her tummy times and our little exercise sessions because today I put her down to play for 10 minutes or so then switched her to her tummy and she immediately lifted her left side and then rolled over!!! Luckily I quickly grabbed my phone and yelled for Dylan so we got to see our Angel perform! I think she was going for the kitty I put in front of her....she kept staring at it and rolling over all day!

I took this at 7 am after about 4.5 hours of sleep combined...so that is the reason I say it is December 29....For the record it is November 29 and I am seriously sleep deprived. Who knows what other goofy things I say and do and don't realize!

Week 2 and Tummy Time

Little Miss Isabelle has been doing great this week! She is doing so well at tummy time and is already lifting one side of her body to try and roll over!!! We are so proud of her! She has definitely been having a growth spurt which has resulted in eating every 2 hours!!! I think she might just be 6 ft tall by the end of the year :)

2 Week Update!

Isabelle had a great visit at the doctors' office. She is now 7 lbs 6 oz!!! I guess those feedings every 2 hours are paying off--what a blessing!

Right now she is a pretty good sleeper and really only cries when she is hungry or when she is having her diaper changed. I hope she stays this easy going! The Little Miss is also SUPER strong! I started tummy time with her today and she lifted her head up and changed to the other side. She also started lifting the side of her body trying to get change positions to her back! I am so proud of her. She gets really frustrated during tummy time and cries but she is also super determined to move!

Glamour Shots

We had the newborn photos taken of the Little Miss on Sunday by Tiffany over at Mulberry dreams! Isabelle proved herself to be quite strong willed, no surprise considering her lineage, as she refused to sleep. The idea was to get our sweet sleeping beauty posed on all sorts of cute girly props with headbands etc. Instead we got a few sleeping beauty pictures and the rest show off her beautiful eyes :) Despite her stubborn streak (streak that will last a lifetime) the pictures turned out great and I can't wait to print out the pictures and share them!

On a sad note, today is Dylan's last day of paternity leave. I am so thankful for his generous paternity leave and have really been spoiled by getting to spend time with him. Not to mention all the help with Isabelle...the middle of the night diaper changes/burping/cuddles to get her to sleep at 3 am! I know he and Isabelle needed this time to bond too! We will miss you tomorrow my love!

Happy Wednesday!

Happy Birth Day My Darling!

Introducing Miss Isabelle Grace Dahmann

Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

The purest of joys
